Competition among backyard barbecue
teams will fire up this weekend in Elkmont at the annual Smokin’
Railroad Street BBQ Cook-Off. Teams will compete for best pork, chicken
and ribs and the award for people’s choice.
The
$2 tickets for people’s choice go on sale at 11 a.m. on Saturday with
tasting at 11:30 a.m. The two-day festival kicks off Friday at 6:30 p.m.
with music by Leslie Garris. Organizers will announce the winners at
3:30 p.m. Saturday.
