Marvin E. "Butch" Meadows, age 67 of Athens, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2013
peacefully at home. The funeral service was Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013 at
2 p.m at McConnell Memorial Chapel with Pastors Dwight Raburn and
Anthony Anderson officiating. Burial was in New Oakland Cemetery.
Visitation was Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home.
Mr.
Meadows was born November 26, 1946 in Limestone County to Marvin
Meadows and Mildred Barker Meadows. He was retired from Solutia after
34 years. He was a deacon at New Oakland Independent Baptist Church.
Mr. Meadows was preceded in death by his parents.
He
is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda Meadows of Athens, AL; one
son, Michael Meadows and wife Tammy of Rogersville, AL; one daughter,
Angie McElyea and husband Wayne of Athens, AL; two brothers, Bill
Meadows and wife Vickie of Athens, AL; Don Meadows of Athens, AL; two
sisters, Becky Adams of Athens, AL, Dianne Hall and husband Glenn of
Athens, AL; two grandchildren, Seth Meadows of Rogersville, AL; Ashley
Penley and husband Jonathan of Elkmont, AL; one great-grandchild, Blayd
Penley of Elkmont, AL.
Pallbearers will be Wain Wilbanks, David Usery, Paul Usery, Carlos Usery, Jerry Lipham, and Brian Meadows.
