Agnes Gates Reece, 94 of Elkmont, Alabama died on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at her home. Born Wednesday, February 9, 1921 in Elkmont, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Newt Gates and the late Clady Harris Gates. She lived most of her life in the Elkmont area and was a member of Pettusville Methodist Church. She especially enjoyed flower gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Joe Reece, a son: John Reece, her daughter: Helen Reece, and all her brothers and sisters.
Surviving are daughters, Mavis Pitts of Columbia, TN and Mary Glen) Mitchell of Ardmore, AL, and Sally (Ray) Hodges of Elkmont, AL, grandchildren: Lisa Norton, Stephanie Murrell, Jeff Mitchell, Tim Reece, Robin Pitts, Chad Hodges, and Kim Hodges Seitz, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 23, 2015, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Ray Stonecypher and Jim Murrell officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 23, 2015, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
