ELKMONT'S FIRST TRACKLESS TRAIN TREK IN PICTURES

January 16th will go down in Elkmont history as the first Trackless Train Trek 1/2 Marathon in Elkmont Alabama and first 1/2 marathon in Limestone County Alabama!

Great race with over 180
registered runners! People from Mississippi, Indiana, Colorado all came to our small town to run the inaugural race!

We sure have some beautiful scenery here in our town of Elkmont.

This man got up and drove from Corinth, Mississippi to run. He did great to be 70 yrs young.

An Oneonta runner also came to run with us.  She said she saw where it benefited Cross country and track athletes and she believes these two sports are so great she had to come and give her support.

Thanks to all of the parents and athletes, the City of Elkmont, Limestone County Sheriff's Dept. Gretta Harris Armstrong, Susan Legg Pylant and Larry, and anyone who made a donation or helped in any way! Already looking forward to next year!

...maybe only in Elkmont could a bloodhound finish the 1/2 in 1:38 and receive a finishers medal! Ludivane comes to the playground every time she gets out of her fence and plays with the kids.

Today she started the race and ran the whole 13.1 miles! She was what we call a "rogue" runner! She was loose and looking for something to do! She got A LOT of attention at the finish line!

Congratulations to all the  finishers of the first Annual Elkmont 1/2 Marathon and to Melanie Maples for completing her first 1/2. It was perfect weather for running today!!!
