Darrell Duane Jernigan age 45 of Elkmont, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Athens-Limestone Hospital. Mr. Jernigan was born February 26, 1968 in Florida to Geraldine Dean Jernigan and Wilma Faye Harrison.
Services for Mr. Jernigan are Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 25, 2014 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery with Doug Colwell officiating.
He was a volunteer firefighter with the Clements and Owens Fire Departments.
He is survived by his wife, Pam Jernigan; daughter, Tristie Downs and husband Jon of Athens; step-children, Megan Thornton and husband Blake and Jamie Jenkins; brother, Kenneth Jernigan; sister, Pamela Sims; mother, Wilma Fay Alred; half-brother, Sherman Allred; half-sisters, Patty Rodriquez, Anna Weaver, Beth Haggermaker, Pamela Jernigan Brooks, Carla Alred and Kay Alred; grandchildren, Aubree Faith Downs and Pheirce Adaleyuh Thornton.
He is preceded in death by his father, Geraldine Jernigan; granddaughter, Abygail Rain Thornton.
Pallbearers will be Volunteer Firefighters. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Clinard and Steve Clark.
