Shirley Maureen Tanner Hood, 84 of Athens died December 3, 2016 at Athens Limestone Hospital.
Mrs. Hood was born October 8, 1932 in Decatur, Alabama, a homemaker, and a member of Westview church of Christ. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother,and Great Grandmother who loved her family, but above all loved God. Mrs. Hood was preceded in death by, Husband, Henry Robert Hood Jr. and a brother, Hugo Tanner.
Graveside services were at 2 PM December 5 at Roselawn Cemetery with Tony Andrews officiating, no visitation was planned.
Pallbearers were Braden Preston, Blake Sain, Barry Pugh, Jonathan Barksdale, Michael Heery, and Dyson Barksdale. Honorary pallbearer, Ty Heery.

Daneese Tucker of Athens
Diane Hubbard of Jacksonville, FL.
*Son: Rene Hood of Athens.
*Nine Grandchildren including Leigh Pugh of Elkmont.
*Fifteen Great Grandchildren including Jenson Pugh of Elkmont.
Sisters:
Rheda Tidwell of Savannah, TN, and Gayle Carter of Arlington, TX.
She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
