HIDDEN TALENTS IN ELKMONT

Elkmont is blessed with talented people of all ages.  Kayla Smith, daughter of Andrea and Darrick Smith, is one of these gifted people.  She is in eighth grade and is already a fantastic writer and especially loves poetry.  

One of her poems was selected to be published by the America Library of Poetry.  Congrads to one of our youngest writers for her accomplishment.

HOPE IS LIGHT

The star in the night began to lose its light

It searched in the night hoping to get bright

Little by little it began to gain hope

Trying to find its light it calls hope.
