Jason and Teresa Morris of Athens announce the engagement of their daughter Kayla Shea Morris to Derek Lynn Wallace of Athens, son of Dennis and Virginia Wallace of Elkmont and Tina Blankenship of Lacey’s Spring.The bride-elect is granddaughter of Linda Gayle Hargrove Burns of Athens and the late Gerald Wayne Burns, Jackie Grisham Morris and James Earl Morris.
She is a 2008 graduate of Athens High School and is currently pursuing an associate degree in healthcare reimbursement at Virginia College. She plans to graduate in December.
She is employed by Athens State University.
The prospective groom is the grandson of J.W. and Betty Wallace of Athens and Agnes McSherry of Elkmont.
He is a 2007 graduate of West Limestone High School.
He is employed by Athens Industrial Stripping.
The wedding is planned for Sept. 15 at the home of the bride’s parents at 15091 Lucas Ferry Road in Athens
