ELKMONT FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT

The alarms sounded and the ever ready volunteer Elkmont Fire Department responded.  The Elkmont fire trucks rolled out yesterday about 5:45 to back up the Oak Grove department on a house fire located on Mooresville Road and Putnam Circle.  Despite the efforts of the fire fighters, they weren't able to save the house.  The owner and one of her 3 dogs were able to get out before flames engulfed the house.  She was taken to the hospital for breathing problems but has recovered and is doing fine today.

BELLE CHEVRE GRAND OPENING - APRIL 13

The Belle Chevre Cheese Shop And Tasting Room is now open to the public. At the moment, we are open in a soft capacity, with a cafe in the works for you to grab breakfast, lunch and snacks and try all of our delicious cheeses.   We have Alabama's best chevre, complements for all your cheese needs, artisan Alabama goods, and even art on sale.

Located in the heart of Elkmont, Alabama, Belle's new shop is in a 100-year-old storefront. In the time we've spent fixin' up, we've had so many incredible people come by to share their memories with us. Turns out a lot of Elkmont residents spent childhood afternoons staring wistfully at the candy in the general store, the previous occupant of our shop.  Come visit us, and stroll down the main street of Elkmont, popping in shops and even catching some live music across the street at the Red Caboose!  (We are falling in love with this little downtown.)

Speaking of which, our grand opening needs a place on your calendar! It is scheduled for April 13, so mark that Saturday down to come by, sample cheese, enter giveaways, visit some *really* cute goats, and more! Located at 18849 Upper Fort Hampton Road, and the current hours are 10-6 Monday through Saturday and 1-5 Sunday.

COUCH POTATO TO TRAILBLAZER
