HOW ELKMONT STUDIES WORLD HISTORY

The Elkmont ninth grade World History class has been studying about WWI in a more creative way than when Hill Spirit when to school.  The method of instruction in the old days was to "read the chapter and answer the questions at the end" technique.  This year, Beth Bates, used bubbl.us (website) to create interactive, online concept maps. This maps help students to understand the causes, participants, and outcomes of the war.

Mrs. Bates did give them an outline to ensure that her students included all the dates, facts, concepts, etc that were important to know.  This activity allowed these creative ninth graders to not only remember the material but hopefully understand the "whys" and "hows" of the war.
