Born Sunday, October 28, 1923 in Elkmont, AL, she was the daughter of George Hargrove and Sallie Daly Hargrove.She lived in the Ardmore area most all her life and was a member of the Ardmore First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Charles Allen Gates, Daughter, Glenda Slelton, Sisters, Ruby Wallace, Louise Locke, Brothers, Thomas (Tom Boy) Hargrove , James M. (Big) Hargrove, Richard Howard (Hap) Hargrove.
She is survived by her Daughter, Ann Bateson, Ardmore, AL, 2 Grandchildren, Sally Taylor and Robby Shelton, 6 Great Grandchildren Samantha Taylor and Andrew , Blair, Chloe, Addison and Eli Shelton.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, AL, at 11:00 AM with Rev. Debbie Eubanks officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
