ELKMONT INVITATIONAL MIDDLE SCHOOL TOURNAMENT CHAMPS The Elkmont Invitational Middle School Tournament was held on the hilltop yesterday. These girls played 5 matchesand won every one, only giving up 2 games and fought back for the win! They won against a great
Ardmore team in a nail biter. These Lady Devils are fun to watch! They left everything on the floor tonight and pulled through with the win to be tournament champs! Still undefeated!
The Middle School Lady Red Devils have smashed their schedule and have an undefeated record. They have wins against many of the area middle school teams. Athens, Huntsville, Tanner, Lindsay Lane, Highland Rim, and East Limestone have all fallen to the ladies from the hill. They will take on Oak Park, Huntsville Catholic and Holly Pond this week. Look for them in the Homecoming Parade on the team float.
Elkmont traveled to West Morgan last night as the second seed in the Area 15 volleyball tournament. Clements took it to four sets but the Lady Devils surged ahead in the last set to take the match, 3-1 (25-16, 25-17, 20-25, 25-20).
Elkmont faced the West Morgan Lady Rebels across the net in the finals. A very strong West Morgan team won 3-0 (25-13, 25-15, 25-18) to win the championship. Elkmont will be playing in the North Regional on Friday at the VBCC in Huntsville at 11:30 am, court 4. They must win two matches Friday to advance
to the state tournament. If Elkmont wins out Friday, they will play Saturday to determine
seeding for the state tournament.
Congratulations to the EHS Lady Devils! They played with a lot of heart! Headed to Regionals! Way to go Red!!
Our middle school volleyball team beat West Limestone, 25-15 and 25-22. Tanner tried their luck as well but the Lady Devils sent them home with a loss as well, winning 25-17 and 25-16. Proud of our girls!!! Next up is the tournament
Saturday at East.
In a closely contested matchup. the Elkmont JV Volleyball team won their match against Clements last night. Breaking from the gate first, Clements won the first set of the match, 25-21. The Lady Devils caught up in the back straight away, taking the second set, 25-23 and the final set,15-5. The JV will be traveling with the varsity team tomorrow to West Morgan. Matches start at 4:30 pm.
The Elkmont Invitational Tournament was held Saturday. Starting out with a bang, the Lady Devils posted pool play wins against Ardmore (25-15,
25-21), West Limestone (25-15, 25-23) and New Hope (25-22, 25-18).
Unfortunately, Elkmont wasn't able to stay on the winning train. Loretto, TN won the tourney with Priceville taking second. They will be traveling to Lincoln County today to see which team makes the best Lady Red Devils.
Elkmont's middle school Lady Devils played East Lawrence and Athens Bible School on September 14. We beat East Lawrence after 3 sets; 24-26, 25-11, 15-11.
We came up short to Athens Bible after three sets; we won 25-16, lost 23-25 and lost 10-15. The girls played tough!!
The next middle school match will be September 19 @ Clements.
The Elkmont varsity program opened their volleyball season at East Limestone earlier this week. The Lady Indians won the match in 3-1 sets. The match began at 2 p.m. with school still in session, and students were
allowed to watch the game until the final bell rang, making for a mostly
full gym. Elkmont dropped the first two sets 25-17 and 25-21. East Limestone
had the lead early in the third set but made numerous errors as Elkmont regrouped and came back to take the set 25-23.The momentum shifted back to the Lady Indians as they took a 9-3 lead in the fourth set, winning the set (25-9) and
match. The Athens News Courier has an article about the match. You can pick up a hard copy at their office until next Tuesday.
Elkmont will be traveling to Lauderdale County today. Play begins at 4:30 with matches against Lauderdale County and Central.
Elkmont's middle school volleyball team traveled to East Limestone for their first match of the season.
The Lady Devils played the Indians in two close sets, 25-17 and 25-21, but were unable to take the lead for the win. Elkmont will be heading to Danville for a double header this Thursday. Best of luck to our young Lady Devils.
It's time for the Decatur Daily all
area volleyball team. The Elkmont Lady Devils had three players
selected for honorable mention recognition for their efforts in the 2016
season. Congrads to each of our ladies.
The Elkmont Middle School Volleyball team burned through its schedule this fall. Their success earned them the top spot in the Limestone County Middle School Tournament.
First team on the chopping block was the West Limestone Lady Wildcats. The Lady Devils treed them with a big win before moving on to the East Limestone team in the winners' bracket. After a win against the Lady Indians, they waited to see which team would meet them in the finals. East Limestone won the final match in the losers' bracket to earn a trip back to the Limestone County Championships against the waiting Lady Devils.
East would have to beat Elkmont twice for the championship. We dropped the first match to East, setting up the deciding match for the County Championship.
Elkmont regrouped and sent the Lady Indians home with the second place trophy. The first place trophy and the Lady Devils returned to the Hilltop as the 2016 Limestone County Champions.
Let me tell you these girls played their hearts out! They never gave
up!! And let me add they have one big support group! We may have sounded
like fools but buddy we cheered these girls on! Between their heart and
spirit and the support we gave them in the stands they are unbeatable!
So thank you to all the parents and fans for supporting our girls!!!
The Little Divas won again!!! I can't say enough about these girls and what an awesome season we are having. We missed Carly & Lindsay Smith White today!
The Elkmont volleyball program hosted the Elkmont Middle School Invitational Tournament, September 10.
The Lady Red Devils started out in pool play to determine seeding in the tournament.

*Elkmont lost to Highland Rim.
*They cut down Oak Park in the best 2 out of 3 sets for the match.
TOURNAMENT PLAY
Beat Lauderdale County in two sets to move to the finals!
In the finals, Elkmont ran into the talented Highland Rim team. The Lady Devils had beat them earlier in the season but Highland edged our ladies out in the Elkmont Invitational for the championship.
Middle school girls beat East Limestone and Highland Rim yesterday. East matches was
25-8 and 25-12. Highland Rim was 25- 16 and 25-19! Way to go
girls!!!!
Our middle school Lady Devils will be playing this Saturday in the Elkmont Invitational.
Not only are our high school volleyball teams good, our youth 10U team picked up two big wins yesterday. The Elkmont 1, 10U Volleyball team beat Athens Bible School and Blue Springs. Wishing them a fantastic season and they are off to a good start.
The 2016 volleyball season started last Thursday and Elkmont has already brought home a trophy. Elkmont's JV team won the Athens Invitational Tournament this weekend! Way to go Lady Red Devils! Their next match will be August 30 as they host Tanner and Giles County at 4:30 pm.
The Elkmont middle school volleyball team started their season yesterday at Athens. The Lady Devils beat the Athens Eaglettes and lost to Danville. The seventh grade team beat Athens as well.
