ELKMONT RUNNER SAFE

Caitlin Milford.jpg The lone Limestone County runner listed on the Boston Marathon website was unharmed during Monday’s double bombings near the finish line.

Caitlin Milford, 25, is originally from San Diego but resides at Cotton Meadows Farms in Elkmont as a working student after graduating from Oberlin College in Ohio.

Cotton Meadows owner Debi Crowley said Milford would be on a flight home Tuesday, and she expected her to return to the horse farm by late Tuesday night.

Crowley said Milford was not injured by the blasts, and neither was her father, who watched his daughter finish 14,345th among about 23,000 runners in the 26.2-mile race. She said Milford had already finished the race “at least 15 or 20 minutes” before the bombs detonated at about 2:50 p.m. ET Monday.

Crowley said Milford has run marathons before, and described her as an avid runner and equestrian. Milford finished in 3 hours, 52 minutes and 17 seconds at an 8:52 mile pace, according to the official race results.
