Rita Faye Thomas, 75 of Elkmont, Alabama died on Friday, March 14, 2014, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.
Born Wednesday, August 10, 1938 in Ardmore, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Jack Shelton and the late Marjorie Hargrove Shelton. She was a life-long member of Ardmore First United Methodist Church but attended Boyd's Chapel United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband: JC Thomas.
Surviving are daughters, Kelli (Fritz) Owens of Huntsville, AL and Becky (Dan) Yant, Elkton, TN, brother, Jimmie (Martha) Shelton of Ardmore, AL, and grandchildren: Daniel Yant, Jr., Ashley King, and Kristen Owens.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 17, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Mike Morelan officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
