HOW DID ELKMONT DO AT THE NATIONAL BETA CLUB CONVENTION?

The National Beta Club holds annual state conventions in eighteen states. There are eighteen Senior Beta state conventions with activities ranging from academic contests to quiz bowls to talent competitions. Conventions give the opportunity for members to interact, share project ideas, and showcase their academic and leadership abilities. National Beta Club conventions are held in exciting locations giving members the chance to see areas which they might not ordinarily have the opportunity to see.

The National Senior Convention is held in June and bring together thousands of Senior Beta Club members.
The Elkmont High School Senior Beta Club was among those thousands in Richmond, Virginia for the National Convention, the last week on June.
They qualified for the national competition in two areas, social studies and in talent.  Michael Farris placed second in social studies knowledge and the Elkmont Motown talent group placed second as well at the state level.

At Richmond, they again represented Elkmont with distinction. Michael Farris took the Beta Club social studies test and finished in the top ten out of 30 outstanding scholars.
Our Motown group also wowed the audience and took 7th place with a fantastic performance.
