WHAT ABOUT OUR COMMUNITY STORM SHELTER?
As you first read in this blog in 2011, Elkmont is getting a community safe room or storm shelter. This is to be built on Sandlin Road across from Ridge Road. With the fall severe weather season round the corner, you may have wondered what its status is. The Hill Spirit has the latest update.
As you can, see the building is still in the finish construction stage. The meter base is up and the electric wire has been pulled. The water line hasn't been run yet and the inside finished electrical work is still on the to do list as well. The last things on the list will be the parking lot and landscape.
