JOHN DWIGHT YOUNG - OBITUARY

John Dwight Young, age 78, of Athens passed away Sunday July 5, 2105 at Limestone Health Facility. He was born July 13, 1936 in Limestone County to Buford Young and Louid Mealer Young. 

Services will be Wednesday July 8, 2015 at 2:00PM at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery. Greg Tucker and Greg Young will be officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday July 8, 2015 from 12:00PM until 1:45PM at the funeral home.

Dwight was a veteran of the United States Army and a green beret. He was a teacher and coach at Elkmont and East Limestone. He was an assistant coach on East Limestone’s first undefeated team in 1965. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping.

He is survived by his sons Greg Young and wife Whitney, and Kevin Young. He is also survived by his daughter Christi McEver, grandson Jonathan Young, granddaughter Hannah McEver, also one nephew Michael Young.

Dwight was preceded in death by his parents Buford and Louid Young, his wife Sara Young, and his brother Bobby Young.

Dwight was a member of Eastside Church of Christ.
