LIMESTONE COUNTY RODEO PARADE IS THIS WEEKEND

Lt. Deputy Allen Craig has been named grand marshal of the 2016 Limestone County Sheriff's Rodeo Parade. The parade is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, with lineup beginning at 10 a.m. at the Limestone County Sheriff's Arena on Alabama 99.

Allen was born and raised in Limestone County in the Owens community. He has one son, Danny, who is following in his father’s footsteps having become a deputy sheriff. Allen’s two grandchildren, Jonathan, 17, and Sara, 15, both attend Elkmont High School. “One of the most memorable parades because I have been the American flag bearer for every rodeo parade we have had and this year, my granddaughter Sara was the Alabama flag bearer and rode along next to me.”

The upcoming parade will feature Allen in the grand marshal wagon with his son Danny serving as the American flag bearer and Sara serving as the Alabama flag bearer.
