Marshall Eugene Turner, age 89 of Athens, Alabama passed away on
Saturday, October 15, 2016 at his home. Mr. Turner was born on November
4, 1926 in Elkmont, Alabama to Oscar Ascie and Geneva Collins Turner.
Mr.
Turner was preceded in death by a son, Marshall Gary Turner, his
parents, Oscar and Geneva Turner, and several brothers and sisters.
He
is survived by 3 sons, Larry Turner and wife Martha of Athens, Anthoney
Turner of Ardmore, and Tim Turner of Athens; 5 daughters, Patsey
Gulley and husband Joe of Fayetteville, TN, Angie Allender and husband
Bobby of Hartselle, Marsha Jean Robinson and husband Eric of Salem,
Vanessa Craig and husband Dan of Athens, Penny Moore and husband Phillip
of Elkmont, and Carol Barnes and husband Marcus of Ardmore; 18
grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, 3 sisters, Nora Osborne of
Ardmore, Emma Robinson of Decatur, and Audrey Living of Elkmont, 1
brother, Nolan Turner and wife Jannie of Owens Crossroads, and several
nieces and nephews.
Services for Mr. Turner will be Tuesday,
October 18, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Bro.
Joel Logan officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, October
17, 2016 from 6:00-9:00 in the Chapel. Burial will take place in the
Antioch Cemetery in Elkmont, Alabama.
Pallbearers will be Mr. Turner’s grandsons.
Mr. Turner was a WWII Veteran, and retired from Redstone Arsenal. He was a member of Sweet Springs Baptist Church.
