Elkmont won the girls county championship, led by Kelsey Martin’s 52 through nine holes. Elkmont shot 165 as a team. Martin, a sophomore, was the county’s best female golfer playing in her fourth county tournament.
“I really wanted to shoot around 44,” Martin said. “The rain changed that. I’m really used to playing when it’s dry. The wind carried the ball, too.”
Elkmont’s other top golfers were Sara Christopher (55), Koribeth Schmidt (58) and Hannah Burgess (60). East Limestone finished behind Elkmont with a 173, followed by Clements (181) and Ardmore (190).
