Deloris Harris, 95, formerly of Delphi, passed away at 11:30 PM, Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare .
She was born February 2, 1918 in Bremen, Indiana to the late Claude and Sylvia (Slusser) Mitchell. She attended Bremen Schools. She married Harvey D. Harris in Plymouth, Indiana on October 4, 1935 and he preceded her on June 22, 1989.
She retired IN 1979 after 20 years from the decorating department at Globe Valve in Delphi.
She was a member of the Delphi United Methodist Church and enjoyed playing cards, knitting and crocheting.
She is survived by a daughter, Betty Shoemaker (Clyde) of Monticello; a son, Bill Harris (Elaine) of North Ridgeville, Ohio. Also survived by 7 grandchildren (Gretta Harris Armstrong of Elkmont is one of those seven) and 9 great grandchildren. Along with her husband, she was also preceded by her parents and a son, Jack Harris and 3 sisters: Claudine English, Donnabelle Mitchell and Veloice Whitsel.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. services on Friday, May 10, 2013 at Davidson Funeral Home, Delphi. Pastor Sheri Rohrer officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery, Delphi.
