For 19 years, Wain Wilbanks has helped the people of Elkmont find the best bacon, package the hamburger and cut the steaks at Piggly Wiggly. He and his lovely wife, Becky, have greeted us when we came to shop at the Pig. Working as the butcher for many years, his presence has been missed for several months. He has been very sick since August and has been in and out of the hospital, having tests searching for the cause. A biopsy was done Wednesday and the results indicate that Wain has brain cancer. The family has been told that nothing could be done except for keeping him comfortable and that it's just a matter of time. Please keep him and his family in your prayers, asking for comfort and strength for Wain and his family.
