Although the peak season for Alabama produce runs from May to early October, the Farmers Market Authority is already working to assure that Limestone County seniors are able to participate in the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program. These SFMNP vouchers help provide fresh fruit and veggies to those in need. However, the application for this program can only be submitted online.

THIS IS A VERY LIMITED PROGRAM SO GETTING THE APPLICATION IN ASAP IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT.
Completing the application does not guarantee receipt of SFMNP benefits to everyone who is eligible since funds are limited. The Limestone County Council on Aging is offering assistance to Limestone County seniors who need help with the application process. Seniors are encouraged to visit their local senior center for an application.
