CROSS COUNTRY LADY RED DEVILS COUNTY CHAMPS; RED DEVILS BRING HOME SECOND

" To finish is to win!"     This is a sentiment that EHS runners have embraced for a number of years!  That thought paid off on Thursday, not only did the Ladies' cross country team finish, they brought home the county title. The boys placed second only behind Athens high School.  The team has worked very hard this year and deserves all of the  success that has come.   We started working out on a "volunteer" basis the first week of June.  We had a week long camp at David Crockett Park in Lawrenceburg Tenn.  in July.  Running was very "hot" but we did 4 miles every morning at 7.  We followed with a 3 mile trail hike at noon and another 4 mile run  at 6 in the afternoon.  The " in-between" times were filled with games and team building exercises.  The athletes were very well behaved and much was accomplished.  A base was built that week that we have built on all season!  We have 2 regular season races left and then sectionals at Cold Springs!  Hopefully we will be state bound!  Run hard of go home!

10/13/11 - Elkmont High School Varsity Boys and Varsity Girls Cross Country teams participated in the Limestone County Cross Country meet at Blue Springs School sponsored by Clements High School.  This was the first cross country meet held at Blue Springs new track.  Several schools participated in Thursday’s Limestone County Meet including Ardmore High School, Athens Bible School, Athens High School, Clements High School, East Limestone High School and Elkmont High School.
