The funeral for Lois Catherine Simpson Edwards, 86, of Athens will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Spry Funeral Home with Bob Watson officiating. Burial will be in Myers Cemetery.
Visitation is from 12:30-2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Edwards died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, at Athens Rehabilitation Center & SeniorCare.
Lois Edwards was born July 7, 1925, in Limestone County. She retired from Tampa University in Tampa, Fla. Mrs. Edwards was a member of O’Neal Church of Christ in Athens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lena Simpson; brothers, Jerry Simpson, Joseph Simpson and James Simpson; and sister, Ella Simpson Younger.
Survivors include a brother, Walter Simpson of Elkmont; sisters, Olivia Simpson Crowe of Decatur, Margie Simpson Goodin of Elkmont and Jane Simpson Gray of Elkmont; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be her nephews.
