The Elkmont Class of 1982 celebrated their 30th class reunion on August 11th, 2012. The reunion was held at the 306 Barbecue Restaurant in Athens. The planning committee was made up of nine classmates, Kent Bevil (the Class President), Lisa Carter Payne, Shelia Posey Scott, Keila Powers Berzett, Kandye Wales Smith, Keith Clem, Steve Fergusson, Tim Phillips and Jeff Campbell. Planning which started months ahead of the reunion was accomplished at Starbucks in Athens every other Monday night. The nine committee members and great coffee made the planning meetings an enjoyable task. Finding addresses for all the classmates was a chore but most were found. All the members did a wonderful job in planning. The Class of 1982 Reunion had around 65 in attendance. Great food, lots of laughter and memories filled the room. Kent opened the night with an agenda, followed by a nice buffet style dinner and a Memory slideshow with some surprises in it created by Keila Berzett. The night ended with hugs and kisses.
