Mr. Looney was born July 16, 1933 in Limestone County, AL to Charlie Crawford Looney and Ethel Elizabeth Carter Looney. Services will be Friday, November 2, 2012 2:00 p.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens with Everett Conn and Jay Looney officiating. Mr. Looney was a member of Mt. Zion Church of Christ. Preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Ethel Looney; brother, J.O. Looney; half brother, Allie Looney. Survived by his wife, Oklena Looney of Athens; four sons, Charles Daniel Looney “Danny” and wife Mary of Athens, Timothy Ray Looney ”Tim” and wife Melissa of Charlotte, N.C., Roger Douglas Looney and wife Dawn of Elkmont and Joey Kevin Looney and wife Sara Beth of Athens; daughter, Virginia Kay Looney of Athens; 6 grandchildren, Cassandra Wallace and husband Bill of Athens, Jason Looney and wife Paula of Eva, AL, Bryan Landman of Gillette, WY, Jay Looney and wife Alicia , Brandon Looney and wife Ashley and Riley Jo Looney all of Athens; 6 great-grandchildren, Ethan Walton Looney, Anna Grace Looney, Carissa Holly Looney, Bryson Looney, Kynsley Looney and Cheyanne Landman; brother, James Luna and wife Linda of Athens; sisters, Linda Faye Leopard and husband Wayne and Mattie Patricia Tucker and husband David both of Athens; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jay Looney, Jason Looney, Brandon Looney, David Pressnell, Tarry Dutton, Ted Barnes and Brian Weaver.
