Clarence Noble Prater, 81 of Elkmont, Alabama passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2013
Born Tuesday, October 20, 1931 in Jackson, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Vincent Prater and the late Corsie Noble Prater.. He lived in this area the last 2 1/2 years coming from Kentucky, he was a veteran of Korean Conflict, serving in the Army.He was a member of Sweet Springs Baptist Church, enjoyed keeping up his yard, gardening and was an avid Kentucky Wildcats fan. He is preceded in death by parents, and a wife Imogene Fields Prater. He is survived by his wife Geraldine Prater of Elkmont, sons, Clarence Prater, Jr. of Lewisville, TX, Alan Dale Prater of Pennsylvania, and Jeffrey Edward Prater of Elizabethtown, KY, brothers, Seldon Prater of Jackson, KY, Ollie James Prater of South Carolina, Lester Prater of Winchester, KY, 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, 27186 Main Street, Ardmore, Alabama. The family will also receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, February 22, 2013, at Pearson - Ratterman Bros. Funeral Home, Louisville, KY Funeral service will be Saturday, February 23, 2013, at 1:00 PM in Pearson - Ratterman chapel, with burial to follow in Middletown Cemetery.
