THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES FOR
* PORTIONS OF NORTH CENTRAL ALABAMA AND NORTHWEST ALABAMA... INCLUDING THE COUNTIES...CULLMAN...LIMESTONE...MORGAN...COLBERT ...FRANKLIN AL...LAUDERDALE AND LAWRENCE.
* FROM NOON CST TODAY THROUGH THIS EVENING
* RAINFALL AMOUNTS AROUND TWO TO THREE INCHES ON TOP OF RELATIVELY MOIST SOIL CONDITIONS WILL LEAD TO AN ENHANCED THREAT FOR FLASH FLOODING ACROSS NORTHWEST AND NORTH CENTRAL ALABAMA TODAY. HEAVY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WITHIN THE LARGER AREA OF RAIN WILL LEAD TO SUFFICIENTLY HIGH RAINFALL RATES IN SOME AREAS...EXACERBATING THE FLASH FLOOD THREAT.

* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...NORTHERN ALABAMA AND SOUTHERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE FROM 9 AM CST TO 9 PM CST TODAY.
* WINDS...SOUTHEAST WINDS WILL START TO INCREASE AFTER 9 AM CST THIS MORNING ACROSS THE AREA...AS A STRONG STORM SYSTEM APPROACHES FROM THE WEST. SUSTAINED WINDS AROUND 25 MPH AND GUSTS AROUND 35 MPH OR HIGHER WILL OCCUR UNTIL 9 PM CST. WINDS WILL LIKELY BE STRONGEST FROM THE LATE AFTERNOON INTO THE EARLY EVENING HOURS.
* IMPACTS...SMALL OUTDOOR ITEMS MAY BE BLOWN AROUND BY GUSTY WINDS. DRIVING MAY BE DIFFICULT IN HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES... ESPECIALLY IN AREAS FREE OF OBSTRUCTIONS.
