The first of the winter forecasts are starting to come out and I'm reading that we will have a colder winter this year. We are due a major ice storm. It has been several years since the last one. The time to prepare is now. You have six months to make those improvements to your home, perhaps add another type of heat for backup. We have added a gas hot water heater and hope to top off the insulation in the attic and replace some exterior doors, might even consider a standby generator. Think of it as another type of insurance, cold weather - no power insurance.
