Athens Fireworks Show and Traffic Control
Please park in designated parking spots at and around Athens High. Athens Police will block U.S. 31 from Forrest Street to Elm Street prior to the show. Those who park east of U.S. 31 will have to exit north or east after the show. Those who park west of U.S. 31 will have to exit south or west.

“We will not let people cross the highway unless traffic has subsided,” Chief Floyd Johnson said.

"We draw hundreds of people from other cities and communities who do not have a fireworks show," said Teresa Todd,
Athens-Limestone County Tourism President.  "When we combine our out of town guests with the Athens-Limestone County population we actually have thousands of people enjoying our restaurants, hotels and retail merchants during this celebratory time."

After the fireworks show, be sure to stop by  downtown to view the historic Courthouse as the symbolic patriotic colors of red-white & blue will be a magnificent light show for the remainder of the evening.
