When Gretta Armstrong and I went to the Elkmont Town Council meeting
and asked their support in Elkmont Cross Country /track program's first
1/2 Marathon we assured them it would bring the town visitors and
publicity...little did we know. Little did we know that a 2 year old
bloodhound would put the town of Elkmont in magazines all over the
world. Little did we know
the race and the dog would put the town's
name on every venue of social media around. Little did we know the
race and the dog would put the town of Elkmont on every major and local
news outlet.
I am so proud to live in a small town where a bloodhound
can bring out the town's spirit and its soul. This little town is a
place where we know everyone and we know the dogs that log miles in with
not only me and my team but runners who come from all over. I want to
thank Ludivine for the publicity she has given our race (newly named
the Elkmont Hound Dog Half) and the notoriety she has given this small
town we call home. Elkmont is a great place to live, work and run!
