Annie
Bell Clem age 87 of Athens, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at her
residence. Mrs. Clem was born April 3, 1926 in Limestone County to
Marvin T. Hicks and Eula Owens Hicks. Mrs. Clem was a member of New Garden Pentecostal Church.
Services will be Friday, July 26, 2013 2:00 p.m., at Limestone Chapel
Funeral Home with James W. Swindle, Phillip Burton and Mitchell
McCormick officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, July 25, 2013 from
6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in
Limestone Memorial Gardens.
Preceded in death by her husband, Willis Clem; parents, Marvin T. Hicks
and Eula Hicks; three brothers, Durad Hicks, Elmo Hicks and Franklin
Hicks; two sisters, Estelle Newcomb and Mamie Lou McGrew.
Survived by three sons, Dwight Clem and wife, Barbara of Elkmont, Deryl
Clem and wife, Lynell and Tim Clem and wife, Diane both of Athens;
daughter, Janice Simmons and husband, Kenneth of Athens; 9
grandchildren; 9 great- grandchildren; two brothers, Billy Hicks and
wife, Frances of Athens and Donald Hicks and wife, Annie of Birmingham;
two sisters, Clarice Burdette of Florida and Doris Harris and husband,
William of Elkmont; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Lewis,
James Swindell III, Lloyd Clem, Don Jewell, Greg Jackson and Cleaborn
Pullum.
In lieu of flowers please make memorials to Hospice of Limestone County.
