Mr. Tim Allen Craig, age 49, of Athens died Monday, July 15, 2013. The
funeral service will be Saturday, July 20 at 2 p.m. at McConnell
Memorial Chapel with Pastor Greg Patrick officiating. The burial will
be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 12 to 2 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home.
Mr. Craig was born November 24, 1963 in Limestone County to Allen B. Craig and Betty Joan Gatlin Craig. He was a retired Limestone County Sheriff's deputy. His hobbies were deer hunting, arrowhead hunting, helicopters before retirement, and watching M.A.S.H. He was also a Mason.
He is survived by his wife Janice Gore Craig of Athens; parents, Allen B. and Joan Craig of Athens, 3 daughters, Elizabeth Burleson and husband David of Clinton, MS; Dusti Coats and husband Robert of Elkmont, AL; Nicole Brown and husband Daniel of Keller, TX; 3 sisters, Anita Taylor and husband Steve of Decatur; Edwina Craig and Lisa Thomas and husband Allen both of Athens; Mother in law Miriam Gore of Huntsville; Brothers in law Douglas Gore of Brentwood, TN; Phillip Gore of Huntsville; and Julian T. Gore, Jr. of Arab; 5 Grandchildren, Ashley Blount and husband Colby, Chase Ward, Parker Burleson all of Clinton, MS; Elle Brown, Brooke Brown both of Keller, TX; great-grandchildren Addison Blount and 2nd little Blount due in December, his beloved dog Pedee of 9 years, several nieces and nephews.

Kathy Owens was born Jan. 19, 1957, in Limestone County. She attended Owens Elementary School and graduated from Clements High School in 1975 where she received the DAR Good Citizenship Award and represented Clements High at Girls State.
Mrs. Owens was an employee at Hyatt and Sims Paint Store in Athens prior to operating Jerry’s Lawn Service. She was a member of Shanghai Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Jerry Owens of Elkmont; daughters, Jennifer K. Smith and husband Jared, and Lori B. McMunn and husband Jason, all of Athens; parents, Hobert and Betty Jane Dollar of Athens; brothers, Danny Dollar and wife Patsy, and Steve Dollar, all of Athens, and Randy Dollar and wife Debi of Cullman; sisters, Gloria Fergus and husband Charlie of Elkmont, and Sharon Dollar of Athens; grandchildren, Bailey Marie McMunn and Maggie Claire Smith.
