LOUISE ANDERSON BLACK - OBITUARY


Louise Anderson Black, age 86 of Athens, Alabama passed away December 31, 2016 at her home. Mrs. Black was born on November 10, 1930 in Limestone County to John Thomas and Ella Mae Putman Anderson.

Mrs. Black was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lorine Anderson Norman and Margaret Anderson Martin; brothers, James Anderson, Lester Anderson, Raymond Anderson, Alvin Anderson, and J.L. Anderson

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Walter Benton Black; her son, Dennis W. Black and wife Laura of Athens; granddaughter, Anna Black Medley and husband Cade of Athens; grandson, Benton Witt Black of Athens; sister, Gladys A. Miller of Elkmont.

Mrs. Black’s accomplishments in life were as a wife, homemaker, cook, mother, and the love of her grandchildren. “Nobody ever went hungry if you visited her house.” She loved her kids at Piney Chapel where she worked 20 years in the lunchroom. She was a faithful member of Hays Mill Church of Christ for more than 60 years.

Services for Mrs. Black will be Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Dennis Black and family officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:45. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Anna Black Medley, Cade Medley, Witt Black, Larry Martin, Roger Martin, and Dennis Black. Honorary pallbearer is Dale Miller.
