BUFORD BROADWAY - OBITUARY

Buford Broadway, 96 of Elkmont, Alabama died on Thursday, February 9, 2017, at Limestone Health Facility in Athens, Alabama. Born Tuesday, October 19, 1920 in Ardmore, Alabama, he was the son of the late Ernest Broadway and the late Alma Faulkner Broadway. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and a deacon for many years. He enjoyed gardening. He was a Veteran of the US Army. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Carter & James Broadway, sister: Ruth Thompson, and a son: Doris Wayne Broadway.
 
Surviving are his wife: Avis Christrine Wales Broadway of Elkmont, AL, sons, David Broadway of Elkmont, AL and Carlos Broadway of Elkmont, AL, grandchildren: David (Beverly) Broadway, Jr., Kara (Brent) Hawkins, Sebrina (Darrell) Holt, Carlos (Teresa) Broadway, Jr., and Katy Broadway, and great-grandchildren: Bodie Hawkins, Emilee Broadway, Carly Broadway, Coulter Broadway, and Sloan Hawkins, and three great-great-grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 12, 2017, from 12 noon until 2:00 P.M. at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, AL.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 12, 2017, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Brent Hawkins, Bro. Mitch McCormick, and Bro. Tony Wales officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Ardmore, AL. Pallbearers will be deacons from New Bethel Baptist Church.
