John William Franklin, 66, of Elkmont passed away Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. A private remembrance will be held at Mr. Franklin’s residence.
Mr. Franklin was born Nov. 20, 1944, in Ohio to Ralph Franklin and Margaret Rice Franklin.
He was preceded in death by a great-grandchild, Jayden Hartman.
Mr. Franklin is survived by his wife, Sandra Franklin of Elkmont; daughter, Stacy Ann Mathis of Elkmont; son, John Franklin Jr. of Elkmont; brother, Bud Franklin of Florida; five sisters, Jean Hogan of Ohio, Donna Gardner of Florida, Laura Kronz, Grace Bauman and Carole Mason, all of Ohio; three grandchildren, Jessica Hartman and husband Jason, Joshua Miller and Hannah Camp.
