LONNIE KING - OBITUARY

Lonnie Cicero King, 72, of Ardmore died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at Floyd E. “Tut” Fann State Veterans Home in Huntsville.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home with Cheryl Blankenship officiating. Burial will be in Pettusville Cemetery in Elkmont.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 tonight at the funeral home.

Born Thursday, May 4, 1939, in Veto, Lonnie King was the son of the late Robert L. King and the late Mable Davis King. He was the husband of Jane King.

He returned to Ardmore more than four years ago after his retirement from the U.S. Air Force. He attended Boyds Chapel Methodist Church. He loved woodworking, nature and antiques, but most of all he loved his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, David R. and Ricky D. King.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda Schrader of Ardmore and her mother, Barbara M. King of Woodstock, Ga.; brothers,
James Calvin King and wife Pattsy of Elkmont, Lee King and wife Joan of Ardmore, Bill (Donnie) King of Ardmore, and Roger King or Ardmore, Tenn.; sisters, Martha Thomas and husband Vernon of Elkmont, Kathy Nave and husband Deverl of Toney, and Renee Wales of Ardmore.

The family requests donations are made to Hospice of North Alabama, 3311 Bob Wallace Ave., Suite 101, Huntsville, AL 35805, and Alzheimer’s Association of North Alabama, 117-A Longwood Drive S.E., Huntsville, AL 35801.
