Mr. Davis was born in Athens, Alabama on January 18, 1934 to Marshall Glyn & Ora Lee Glanton Davis. Mr. Davis retired with the rank of Lieutenant from Athens Police Department after 29 years of service, and was a member of Pleasant Valley church of Christ.
Visitation will be 4 - 8 PM Sunday at Spry Funeral Home.
Services will be Monday at 11 AM in the chapel of Spry Funeral Home, with Paul Loggins, Tim Massey, Larry Knowles and Don Osborne officiating, burial in Athens City Cemetery.
Grandsons and Grandsons-In-Laws will be pallbearers, and Great Grandchildren serving as honorary pallbearers.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Marie Davis - Athens. Son, Nickie Davis. Daughters, Myra Loggins and husband, Paul. Kathy Massey and husband, Tim. Gail Knowles and husband, Larry all of Athens. Grandchildren, Matt Loggins and wife, Kelli - Auburn. Allison Thompson and husband, Heath, Anthony Loggins, Rachel Massey, Cody Loggins, Beth Pontal and husband, Michael. Laura Richter and husband, Westley, all of Athens. Great Grandchildren, Alaina Loggins, Preston Loggins, both of Auburn. Jasper Thompson, Aubree Massey, Sawyer Thompson, Andrew Thompson, Nora Kate Richter all of Athens, and the anticipated adoption of Clyde Pontal in December. Brother, Garth Davis and wife, Judy - Elkmont.
