Emily Webb Turner LaBathe Huber, 90, passed away Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, at home supported by the love and prayers of numerous family and friends. Her steadfast faith in the Lord led her home so peacefully and surrendered. She was born April 16, 1925, to Mary and Frank Turner in Sumner, Mississippi.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, Angelo “Al” LaBathe and her son, Mark Angelo LaBathe.
Emily Huber is survived by her husband, Carl Huber, 94; children, Emily Fran LaBathe of Towson, Maryland, and Paul Wellons LaBathe of Athens; daughters-in-law, Jan LaBathe of Athens, and Elissa Green of Huntsville; grandsons, Michael Anthony LaBathe of Elkmont, Matthew Alan LaBathe and Mark Andrew LaBathe, both of Athens, and Blake Turner LaBathe of Huntsville; and great-grandson, Everett Waylon LaBathe.
Emily was known as a kind and gentle woman. Her love of God and man was displayed in her generous giving to religious, humanitarian and environmental organizations. She was an award-winning artist and art teacher to many. She enjoyed being with family, playing bridge, fishing and even a round or two of golf.
Visitation is 4-6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, 2320 Bob Wallace Ave., Huntsville, AL 35801.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Huntsville Memory Gardens, U.S. 72 West with the Rev. Don Cox officiating.
