Mr. Watkins was born April 19, 1952 in Limestone County to Kirby Watkins and Lillian Willis Watkins. Services will be Saturday, June 9, 2012 1:00 p.m., at New Bethel Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Burial will be in Sylone Cemetery with Mitch McCormick and Ray Pettit officiating. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Thomas Watkins, Ander Watkins, Joe Watkins and Bunion Watkins; sisters, Lillian, Ona Hood and Julie Cain. Survived by his wife, Lisa Dodson Watkins of Elkmont; two sons, Charles Andrew Watkins (Brittany) and Scotty Glen Watkins both of Elkmont; three daughters, Bonnie Jo Shell (Kyle) of Ardmore, Tina Ann Coleman (Tom) and Shelly Ann Peterson (Cory) both of Elkmont; five grandchildren, Emily, Lindsey and Tyler Coleman, Zechariah Shell and Lee Peterson; six brothers, David Watkins (Geneva) of Nashville, TN, Bobby Watkins (Vickie) of Prospect, TN, Sam Watkins of Elkmont, John Watkins (Nancy) of Athens, Boss Watkins (Mary), and Tony Watkins both of Elkmont; two sisters, Mable Putman of Houston, TX and Patricia Claunch of Athens. Pallbearers will be Scotty Watkins, Andrew Watkins, Cory Peterson, Ray Pettit, Bodie Hawkins and James Collins.
