Lady Mae Burleson age 85 of Athens, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at her residence.
Services will be Friday, June 1, 2012 2:00 p.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, May 31, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Copeland Cemetery with Bill Davis officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Ms. Burleson was born October 1, 1926 in Limestone County to William Edward King and Mary Melvinia Jones King. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by three sons, James Marshall Gary Turner, Dwight Earp and Ricky Eugene Pirtle; daughter, Angela Darlene Pirtle; three brothers, William King, Arney King and Chay King; two sisters, Effie Childers and Edna McConnell.
Survived by eleven children, Linda Jones, Kathey Pressnell (Ray), Dallas Pirtle (Janice), Tommy Pirtle, Sandy Pirtle, Jeannie Robertson (Eric) all of Athens, Carol Barnes (Marcus) of Ardmore, Tim Turner (Tammy), Vanessa Craig (Dan) both of Athens, Penny Moore (Phillip) of Elkmont and Amanda Reyer (Chris) of Athens; four step-children, Larry Turner (Martha)of Athens, Patsy Gulley (Joe) of Fayetteville, TN, Anthony Turner (Dianne) of Ardmore and Angie Allendar (Robert) of Hartselle; 22 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; sister, Ida Belle Huber.
