Michael and Amy Thomas of Elkmont announce the engagement of their daughter, Rachel Elizabeth Thomas, to Houston Thomas Glaze, son of Jeff and Patsy Glaze of Athens.The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Bill and Bobbie McKinley of Elkmont, Judith Thomas of Athens and Ovid Merchant of Randolph, and the late Donald Thomas.
She is a 2009 graduate of Faith Christian Academy and a 2012 graduate of Calhoun Community College where she received an Associate of Applied Science degree in dental assisting.
She is employed by Sarrell Dental Center as a dental assistant.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Joel and Ann Glaze of Athens and the late Wilbur and Zelma Dean.
He is a 2008 graduate of Athens High School.
He is employed by Redstone Federal Credit Union as a teller.
The wedding is planned for June 30 at Athens State University’s Founders Hall.
