Tax Free Weekend:
Beginning at 12:01 a.m. (CST) on Friday August 2, 2013, and ending at twelve midnight on Sunday August 4, 2013, Alabama will hold its eighth annual sales tax holiday giving shoppers the opportunity to purchase certain school supplies, computers, and clothing free of state sales or use tax.

Football season is almost here.  Time to get Boss Hill Stadium ready.  Interested Elkmont fans, family and players are invited to help out in the clean up effort.  Meet at 8 am; bring your favorite rake, leaf blower, or other cleaning tool.  There is always painting to do as well. 

On Aug 3, the event organizers billed as “the greatest festival for music and arts Elkmont has ever seen” will occur. The Red Devil Rock Show will feature folk artists and regional bands with roots, soul, reggae, orchestral pop and heavy rock sounds. Tickets to the festival at Elkmont High School’s baseball fields cost $12-$25. www.reddevilrockshow.org. 

Football SIGNUPS (Ages 4-13) are SATURDAY 9-2 @ EventPro on Highway 72 in front of Champion Chevrolet. $75 Signup fee and a copy of birth certificate required. Fee covers uniform, equipment, and trophy at the end of season. IT'S GONNA BE A GREAT YEAR, YALL JOIN US!!!!  


Antioch Cemetery decoration will be Saturday, Aug. 3. A plot map of the cemetery is available for viewing. Upkeep donations may be sent to Amelia Smith, P.O. Box 151, Elkmont, AL 35620. Call Annette Lewis Wales at 256-777-9851 for information.
