William Allen Williams, 81, of Ardmore, Alabama passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2016, at Athens-Limestone Hospital in Athens, Alabama. Born Wednesday, December 12, 1934 in Athens, Alabama, he was the son of the late Elden and Winnie Marie Blankenship Williams. He was also preceded in death by brother Hollis Williams and sisters Ella Ree McLemore and Katherine Williams. He was a life long resident of this area and was a member of Community Baptist Church in Ardmore, Alabama. He enjoyed Alabama football and Atlanta Braves baseball.
Surviving are wife, Jessie Shannon Williams of Ardmore, AL; son, Jeffrey Williams (Diane Thurman) of Elkmont, AL; daughters, Angie (Michael) Turner of Elkmont, AL and Jan (Clayton) Ikard of Toney, AL; grandsons, Will Turner, Trace Williams, and Logan Ikard; granddaughters, Kelsey Turner Cooper and Megan Williams; brothers, Bud Williams of Athens, AL, Pete Williams of Decatur, AL and Kenneth Williams of Athens, AL.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Steve Hargrove and Bro. Jason Moore officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
