ONCE IT WAS 62 BUT NOW IT IS 5 - WHO BE OUR NEXT PRINCIPAL?

The field of 62 applicants has been sliced to five finalists for Elkmont High School principal.

Limestone County Superintendent Thomas Sisk said today the finalists are:
  • Travis Schrimsher, assistant principal, James Clemens High School, Madison.
  • Johnny Berry, administrator, Hartselle High School.
  • Hunteria Nelson, administrator, Mobile County Schools.
  • Garth Garris, basketball coach and teacher, Elkmont High School.
  • William Hardiman, principal, Piney Chapel Elementary School.
  •
Sisk and Elkmont Mayor Tracy Compton interviewed 12 of the 62 applicants. They are seeking to replace Stan Davis, who retired after 36 years in education.

Sisk said a committee of Elkmont High teachers and support staff will interview the finalists today.
The superintendent said he hopes to make a recommendation at the school board’s June 18 meeting.
