The JV Red Devils have a lot to be proud of following Saturday's matchup against Ardmore. Having beaten the JV Tigers earlier in the season, it did not take this young team long to recognize several Ardmore Varsity players on the field during warm-ups.
Despite the gap in age, size, and experience, the much improved JV Red Devils held their own against Ardmore's combined squad, losing 3-1.
Eighth grader Nehemias "Nemo" Vicente scored Elkmont's goal on a penalty kick.
Led by Eliseo "Peanut" Nava, Elkmont's defense played its most physical game of the year, meeting the challenge and making some huge plays in front of the goal.
Saturday's game was the last scheduled JV game unless those cancelled due to weather are rescheduled.
The Varsity Red Devils play an area game at home (Ardmore City Park) against Mars Hill at 7:00 pm on Monday.
