Dean Davis Hobbs, age 88 of Elkmont, passed away on Monday, October 15,
2018 at Limestone Health Facility. Mrs. Hobbs was born September 13,
1930 in Elkmont, AL to Andrew Lewis and Sammie Adams Davis.
Services
for Mrs. Hobbs were Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Limestone
Chapel Funeral Home with Dr. Carl Evans. Visitation was Wednesday,
October 17, 2018 from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial
was in Roselawn Cemetery.
She was a hard worker
and loved her family very much. She was a 1948 graduate of Elkmont High
School. She married James W. Hobbs on September 16, 1950. James and
Dean owned and operated James Hobbs Grocery at Lockes Cross Roads for
many years. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, and spending time with her
family. The highlight of her week was her Wednesday morning trips to
the beauty shop and breakfast at Hardee’s. She was a member of
Pettusville United Methodist Church. She was a friend to all.
She
is survived by her sons, Marcus Hobbs and wife Sara, Greg Hobbs and
wife Mary and Brad Hobbs and wife Dana; brother, Sonny Davis and wife
Jeanette; sister, Jane Woodfin; sister-in-law, Edith Davis;
grandchildren, Shane Carpenter, Brent Hobbs, Morgan Hobbs, Gina Cagle,
Madeline Hobbs, Ben Hobbs and Davis Hobbs; step-grandchildren, Kim
Miller and Krissy Aldridge; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great
grandchildren; special friends, Lola Allison and Deborah Gardner;
nieces, nephews and numerous other family and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband James W. Hobbs.
Pallbearers
are Marcus Hobbs, Greg Hobbs, Brad Hobbs, Brent Hobbs, Morgan Hobbs,
Davis Hobbs, Ben Hobbs, Drew Cagle and Bain Carpenter.
