Emily Wrightington, 15, the daughter of Capt. William Wrightington, currently serving in the Middle East, and Eric and Anita Burt of Elkmont, will be competing in the Miss Alabama Teen USA in January. She is currently Miss Elkmont Teen USA.
Wrightington is a freshman at Elkmont High School. She is a member of the color guard auxiliary and plays the flute in the EHS band. She said she enjoying traveling to competitions with the band and photography.
Wrightington has competed in pageants for three years. Her platform at the Miss Alabama Teen USA pageant is “Homes for Troops.” She said she looks forward to promoting the organization. She started raising money for “Homes for Troops,” a group that remodels the homes of disabled service members returning from duty, in 2010. The group provides accommodations such as wheelchair ramps, kitchen and bath modifications and more.
