RED DEVILS AT 5-0, DUST DEVIL AT THE GYM

Game Summary:
Elkmont won two more games early this week to move their record to 5-0.  On Monday night, the Red Devils beat Athens Bible School 65-41.  Elkmont pulled out to a comfortable lead early and Coach Garris was able to play the bench for most of the game.  Tyler Thomas led the way with 19 points and 7 rebounds.  Daniel Logan had 14 points and Matthew Barnes added 11.

On Tuesday, Elkmont won their first Area game of the year over Clements 49-43.  This game was a physical, hard fought, half court game; not pretty to watch but still a win for Elkmont.  Hayden Huseth led the scoring with 11 points and Andrew Labathe added 10.  Cole Glass had 10 rebounds and Daniel Logan had 8.

Observations:
The Dust Devil thinks Elkmont did not play well in either game; however, often a mark of a good team is when it doesn't play well and still wins.  Elkmont's defense continues to be solid.  The team passes well and is unselfish.  It will be interesting to see the team progress as the schedule gets tougher in the next few weeks.

Predictions:
The Red Devils travel to West Limestone on Friday.  The Dust Devil predicts that Elkmont will play well but West Limestone's size will be the deciding factor in a five point loss for the Red Devils.  The Dust Devil also predicts that the team will win the Area and win 20 games this year.
